A Rose in the Concrete

“You try to plant somethin in the conrete, why'knowhatImean?

If it GROW, and the rose petal got all kind of

scratches and marks, you not gon' say, look at

all the scratches and marks on the rose that grew from concrete"

You gon' be like, "A rose grew from the concrete?!" -Tupac

If you made it this far from a background of dire or even dreadful circumstances, as many people on the spiritual path do, then consider congratulating yourself on beating the odds against you.

Tune out of the propaganda of perfection and perhaps attempt to notice your victories. Ponder the possibility of being your own biggest fan.

Return your gaze from the fields of others and acknowledge the miracle that a rose could actually have grown from concrete.
